Contemplative Prayer

Contemplative prayer might be thought of as a quiet or listening prayer style that includes silent mediation, lectio divina (contemplative Scripture reading), and chanting, among other forms of prayer. Beginning September 12 , Dr. Rod Hetzel will introduce parishioners to some of these forms of prayer with ample opportunity each session to spend time in a prayer practice. Rod will be joined by our Assistant Rector for Pastoral Care, The Rev. Kara Leslie.

Rod is a Camaldolese Benedictine oblate at New Camaldoli Hemitage in California. An oblate can be a lay or ordained person who follows a shared rule of life through lives of prayer, hospitality, and peace-making.

Join us on on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month from 6–7 PM In the Annex located at 323 N. 29th street.
