Our mission at St. Alban’s Children’s Ministry is to provide a fun, loving, and safe environment where children are formed in the Christian faith through Bible-based curricula and hands-on activities. We want all children to know God’s love for them in Jesus Christ, and that God’s amazing grace is for them, too!
Children from pre-K to 6th grade participate in Sunday School at 10:15 AM. Nursery is available to ages 0-3 yrs. Every class is lead by a committed team of influencers who spend the year in Sunday school facilitating lessons and building relationships with our children.
During the 9:00 and 11:15 AM services, children ages 4-9 are invited to participate in Children’s Chapel, an age-appropriate worship service that takes place in The Crèche. After the second scripture reading, the Priest will invite all children forward for a blessing before they are dismissed for Children’s Chapel. (If you’re new or your children are nervous, parents are welcome to accompany their children if desired.) This allows parents and caregivers the chance to listen to the sermon while their children receive instruction at their own level. Children will return during the Passing of the Peace, right before Communion.
We have other wonderful events for children throughout the year: our St. Alban’s Day celebration, our Easter Egg hunt, and more. These events are listed in our Children’s Ministry emails, our churchwide weekly email, and our worship bulletins.
Our children’s ministry is currently led by Stepanie Drum, Director of Ministry to Children & Youth, along with dedicated volunteers. If you have any questions about our children’s ministry, please contact Stephanie.
Every member of our staff and vestry, and all staff and volunteers who work with youth and children, are certified by the Episcopal Diocese of Texas’s Safeguarding God’s Children program. This includes a background check and abuse prevention and awareness training.
